WTC Digs Wells

WTC Digs Wells
- LOVE A GOOD HEADING!

Well? well,  West Tamar may not want to donate toilets, so TEAR have another idea- a well could provide fresh water for a whole village-
Mr Easther, you can get 75 wells for $120,000
That is great value.
BUT YOU STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THE POOH PROBLEM AT  DEVIOT.

West Tamar Council donates 171 Toilets

What a heading!
If WTC cannot decide where to build a toilet around Deviot, perhaps it could use our money effectively  elsewhere  -    in the developing world?

It works like this:

             WTC has allocated $120,000.
TEAR Fund can build toilets A$70 ea.  so, that generous donation could fund

            =171 purpose built village toilets.
Think what that could do for sanitation!

Now, if you would like to donate a toilet, you can do that athttp://www.usefulgifts.org/cart/add/toilet

No Policy for Humans

Lets Recap!
Its over three months since RAOP started acting on this issue. Many of you have spoken, left comments (and stolen signs), but the West Tamar Council who budgeted $120k for the ?9th conseq. year for a Deviot toilet, still have no plans. A conversation with a usually reliable counsellor-back in August, revealed it was currently 'out to tender' - well I am licenced to say- That was crap! That was merely to calm us down.
Now we need to ask, what else does the WTC use our allocated money for each year?
Lets Recap!
Go back to my Blog of 30th August,
when we placed a sign and 'not for your dog bags'
It said:
New sign today, with accompanying 'not for your dog bags'.
Bizarre as life is, the WT Council have a policy on what to do when your dog drops in public (see below), but no rules or recommendations for 'people's pooh.' Here at Pooh Corner, we have taken the initiative to provide bags (and gloves) to help you in those embarrassing moments when you are just tou-louse to hold on!

Why?Because we love our river.......
We know all that drops on to 'pooh corner' seeps into the water.....
and we are still waiting for WTC to build a public toilet....

..........................................................................................Where do you think it should go?
Regards, Don Squat  (-still agonising)

What the WTC Website says

Cleaning Up

When your dog is in a public place you are always required to clean up after it. Dog faeces are unpleasant and damage the environment. Cleaning up can be done simply and easily with the aid of a scooper or plastic bag and placing the faeces into the nearest rubbish bin.
=This does not apply to a guide dog that is accompanying a wholly or partially blind person.

Failure to clean up after your dog can result in a fine of up to $300.

Rain dissolves dog faeces and they are washed into our waterways. Marine plant and animal life are affected by this pollution. Australian beaches are closed for several days after rain because of this type of pollution. Dog faeces contain E-coli bacteria, which can cause ongoing illness in people

Don was away for Art Entwine, and missed an opportunity to contribute to the local
Artists-in-the-Vineyard events.
We trust they all had adequate sanitary arrangements.

We are disappointed not to be able to add our own decorative bathroom to Deviot , but have provided a couple of ideas for next year (WTC still in ?10 yr planning stage), and fisherfolk and tourists still squatting on our plot.

A surprise awaits- just choose a lucky door.

Don likes this option- good hygenic concrete slab, and no visible river to drain into.

(But we wonder is the design could rest in Deviot, or would look spectacular next to the Batman Bridge)
